Zoo de Doue

WOW! (Probably!) the best zoo in the world! Situated in a disused quarry, you enter to come eye to eye with giraffes-literally. This zoo is one of Franace's best and is a fabulous days out. It is an ideal day trip whether it is ready to rain or a hot sunny day as there is lots of cover and shade provided by a variety of trees, bamboo and acacias. There are over 500 animals who have lots of space to roam in their enclosures and lots of presentations and talks throughout the day. There are also questions posted around the zoo for young and old to answer, statues and places to eat your packed lunch - although there is a restaurant on site too. Parking is easy - straight opposite, under cover and loads of it!
